» 'Run Fatboy Run' Movie Review

Run Fatboy Run officially comes out in the USA March 28, 2008 although it has been around for a while.  I recently saw it only because I was browsing movie title and saw 'run' in it and instantly was interested.  I also saw that it had the actor Simon Pegg, who was also in a movie called "Hot Fuzz" which was pretty much hilarious.

To get back to the movie, the basic plot is about a slightly overweight guy called Dennis that decides to leave his pregnant fiancée on his wedding day because he is scared of the commitment.  Five years later Dennis realized that she was truly the one and tries to get her back in his life.

Unfortunately, she moved on and found a successful, fit, wealthy new man.  The new boyfriend is a runner's world level runner and has done a couple marathons here and there.  There was a new big marathon occurring in the city which he was doing and Dennis decides that his only way to prove to his ex-fiancée that he has changed was to also do it.  Shortly before, the new boyfriends proposes to Dennis's ex and so he feels as if he has too complete the race.

After almost just giving up, Dennis decides to do it and the story goes on from there (I don't want to ruin any more surprises in the plot).

Overall, I would say it was a pretty funny movie. The better part of the film was that I was able to consider it a chick flick and made it a date movie with my fiancée (also a runner).  I just need to make sure I don't leave her pregnant on our wedding day.  The story does have its corny points but the fact that it dealt with running and still had its humor sold me. I would recommend it. I give it a 7.8/10.
